Vinicius Junior## Arsenal have set their sights on Real Madrid star Vincius Jr but the transfer pursuit is far from straight forward

Arsenal target Vinicius Junior will not leave Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports. New Los Blancos head coach Jose Mourinho is said to have a key role in ensuring the Brazilian remains in the Spanish capital.
There was a willingness from the Gunners to finance the deal to sign the 26-year-old after pinpointing the winger as a significant upgrade on their options, **football.london**understands. Mikel Arteta's side were weighing up the potential of making the deal happen with the Premier League-winning tactician approving the deal to be completed.
Arsenal are on red-alert over the prospect of signing Vinicius with the two-time Champions League-winner into the final 12 months of his contract at the Bernabeu. However, they will have to go back to the drawing board with Mourinho intent on keeping his star players at his disposal ahead of his first season back.
It has been said that Vinicius and the Spanish giants are set to hold further talks with the intention of the Brazil star to sign a new long-term deal.
Club president Florentino Perez is reportedly involved in the negotiations and has expressed his desire for the forward to remain. Real Madrid go into the forthcoming campaign looking to usurp rivals Barcelona from the summit after Hansi Flick's side raced to La Liga success at a canter.
BBC Sport reported earlier this week that the forward was receptive to remaining at the club but wanted 'to feel loved' with his new deal reflecting his importance to the club.
Mourinho's side have been busy this summer after signing Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva on a free, while they signed Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries from Chelsea and Inter Milan respectively.
