Liverpool have opened talks for Rayan. The Bournemouth winger has shone since his move from Brazil. This Liverpool transfer news could boost their rebuild under Andoni Iraola.

Liverpool’s Move for Rayan

As reported by TEAMtalk, Liverpool have already made contact to discuss a possible deal for the 19-year-old Brazilian talent. However, Bournemouth have shown no desire to sell their prized asset after just six months at the club. The Cherries consider the player untouchable after his impressive breakthrough campaign.

There is a £130 million release clause in his contract. However, it cannot be triggered until the summer of 2027. This gives the south coast side full control of his future during the current window. Moreover, any future deal would likely require a fee above £100m to convince the board to agree.

The player at present holds a vital status in his current squad under Bournemouth manager Marco Rose. They have qualified for the UEFA Europa League this season. Rose trusts that his young star will remain in the club for their first-ever European campaign. Liverpool must act swiftly if they wish to secure Rayan this summer as part of their major squad rebuild.

How Iraola Shaped Rayan’s Rise

The existing relationship between Liverpool’s new boss Andoni Iraola and the forward provides an advantage for the Reds. Before joining the club, Iraola managed Bournemouth and led them to their highest-ever Premier League finish. There he worked closely with the teenager after his arrival. He played a pivotal role in helping the youngster adapt to the physical nature of English football.

As reported by the Daily Mirror, Iraola made the raw prospect into a World Cup starter in just half a season. Liverpool have sought a personal opinion from the boss before moving forward with their pursuit. The manager believes the ceiling for the player is very high.

The player’s broad range allows him to play both wide and centrally in a modern attack. This range of options makes him a standout choice in the current transfer market. In terms of stats, the winger has been outstanding. He scored five goals and two assists in just 13 starts last term.

Notably, he became the 16th teenager in history to score in three straight matches in the league. This form earned him a place in the Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup. There he became the first teenager to start for his nation in the tournament since Marco Antonio in 1970.

The European Race for the Brazilian Wonderkid

Liverpool face strong competition for the Brazilian from several top European clubs. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are all tracking his progress after an impressive debut season. Interest in Rayan has grown after Liverpool’s talks for Yan Diomande slowed down. Reports suggest Diomande now prefers a move to Paris instead of Anfield.

The Reds have now turned their focus to the Bournemouth winger. The club see him as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. His left foot and ability to play on the right make him an ideal fit for the role.

As reported by Football365, former striker Alan Shearer has openly backed the move. “Rayan obviously worked with Andoni Iraola last year, and he’s clearly going on to big things, so that would be a big one for Liverpool,” Shearer noted when talking about the transfer. The pundit believes the club needs a number of marquee signings to reclaim their title.
