Benoît Badiashile’s time at Chelsea since his arrival three and a half years ago has not been amazing, with the 25-year-old center back limited by poor form and annual multi-month injuries. Early on, he had moments where he looked decent but he’s barely played the last two years outside of UEFA Conference League matches. Unsurprisingly, he’s currently in the Bomb Squad, trying to figure out what to do next.
Interest in him has not been great however either. Napoli have been the only team semi-seriously linked, and of course they are only interested in a loan. The Partenopei have moved on from Antonio Conte this summer, replacing him with Max Allegri, and defensive reinforcements are high on his agenda. As per [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/live-blog/11095/13025497/chelsea-transfer-news-rumours-and-gossip-live-updates-and-latest-on-deals-signings-loans-and-contracts?postid=12142497#liveblog-body), Badiashile is one of several names on their shortlist, which also includes Juventus’ Federico Gatti, Lecce’s Tiago Gabriel, and West Ham MMA fighter Jean-Clair Todibo.
Some reports in the wild wild west of the calciomercato have painted a more promising picture as far as any talks may be concerned, but even those are only talking about a loan with an option to make the deal permanent (so a loan for the season and then rinse and repeat next year). €3m would be a decent loan fee at least for sacrificing a foreign loan slot.
