Tottenham have received a welcome boost to sign their primary attacking target.
Fans heaved a huge sigh of relief when Tottenham Hotspur beat Everton 1-0 on the final day of last season. They were all celebrating merely staying in the division at the expense of West Ham.
The club’s owners pledged heavy investment in the summer transfer window to repair the squad, and they have lived up to their words. This summer has very much been about addressing the glaring holes in defence and midfield for the Lilywhites so far. Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Jan Paul van Hecke have arrived at the back, while the club-record acquisitions of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali have been welcomed into midfield.
However, there is work to be done as far as the attacking unit is concerned. The Italian coach wants to add more Premier League-proven commodities to his squad after the troubles that occurred last season. The North Londoners have seemingly made progress on a potential deal for a long-term target.

Spurs’ interest in Manchester City winger Savinho extends back to last summer. They tried to sign him during the final weeks of the transfer window, but former Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola opted to keep the player. He subsequently signed a two-year contract extension last October, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031.
However, injury problems and lack of game time has led to speculation over an exit this time around. According to a report from BBC Sport, Savinho wants to leave Manchester City this summer amid Tottenham interest. The 22-year-old is a key target for Roberto De Zerbi, and the Man City bosses are well aware of it.
The Brazilian winger’s game time was limited during the 2025/26 campaign, appearing only in 36 matches across all competitions. With the Sky Blues signing Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo, Savinho fell down the pecking order under Guardiola. Now with Pep gone, the versatile attacker wants to get his career back on track by moving to Tottenham.
Savinho could be a fantastic addition to De Zerbi’s squad, possessing trickery, pace, agility and creativity. At just 22, the South American attacker can further develop under the watchful eyes of De Zerbi at Spurs and potentially make the left-wing starting berth his own for years to come. His end product needs some work, but with consistency, maturity, and the right guidance, the former Girona man will certainly improve in this area.
All in all, a move to Tottenham feels increasingly likely.
