Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola has grabbed all the headlines this week.
The Reds are looking to reinforce their attack and have identified the French international as their top target.
Barcola is in talks to sign for Liverpool, but there is a belief that negotiations will be drawn out due to the finances involved.
And in the meantime, one of their long-term transfer targets has asked to leave his current club amid interest from a host of European giants.
Liverpool target Matias Fernandez-Pardo wants to leave Lille
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Matias Fernandez-Pardo, who has earned rave reviews for his performances for Lille.
The Belgian attacker was part of Rudi Garcia’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Foot Mercato reporting that his asking price this summer is around €70m.
As seen below in the post, Sacha Tavolieri reports that Fernandez-Pardo has now asked to leave Lille amid interest from Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea.

The 21-year-old is a wanted man and has made his intentions very clear. However, the report also mentions that he respects Lille, who has thus far maintained that he is not for sale.
Discussions remain open for Fernandez-Pardo.
Now, what does this mean for Liverpool? The Reds are currently focused on Barcola, but if that deal falls through, they could turn to the 21-year-old, who has made it very clear to Lille that he would like to move on if an extraordinary opportunity arises.
