Liverpool have kept their cards close to their chest in the summer transfer window so far and have only signed two players: Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet.
The Reds are in talks to sign Bradley Barcola, but any deal with PSG is likely to take a lot of time due to the finances involved.
In terms of their midfield, they have been linked with too many players, which is a sign that Andoni Iraola is happy with his pre-existing options.
However, earlier in the summer, Anfield Watch reported that Liverpool wanted to sign Mamadou Sangare after his stunning season with RC Lens in Ligue 1.
And now, Brentford have stolen the march to secure his signing ahead of a host of other clubs.

Foot Mercato report that Sangare is heading to Brentford for a fee believed to be in the region of €48m + bonuses, with Lens also holding a sell-on clause.
Santi Aouna wrote on X: “RC Lens and Brentford have reached an agreement in principle for Mamadou Sangaré.
“Transfer fee: €48M + bonus + a sell-on clause. Brentford are now working on the final details before completing the deal.”
Crystal Palace and other Premier League clubs have shown interest this summer, but Keith Andrews’ side have jumped ahead of everyone else to seemingly secure a deal.
The report also mentions that if the deal goes through, Sangare is set to become the most expensive sale in Lens’ history, beating Lois Openda’s €40m sale to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023.
If Liverpool, or any other club in the world, wants to make a late push, they need to do it now as all parties involved are working swiftly to thrash out all the final details.
