"Owners are in talks..."- Significant and exciting new Liverpool and FSG claim has emerged

Recent rumours have claimed that new financial investment could be coming Liverpool’s way, and now a fresh update has emerged regarding the situation.

It looks as though FSG may potentially be making the first steps to potentially sell the Reds, with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos part of a consortium looking to buy a stake in the club.

Finance expert Stefan Borson has provided his thoughts on the matter, playing down how significant Bezos’ involvement could ultimately be:

“It’s probably not much, to be honest, as surprising as that might be. First of all, I suspect that if he does come on board, he’s coming on board as a minority in the minority. So, a part of the consortium, but probably with no steering ranks for that group. And in any event, they’re going to be a minority.

“Any power that they’re likely to have is going to be limited. It’s not the same as the situation with Ineos, where Ineos effectively take control of the running of the club and take it off the Glazers’ plate. It won’t be like that, I don’t think. But even if it was, Bezos is not going to be involved in the general running. It it will be a toy for him, an interest.”

Now, a respected source has provided a significant update on X, talking up Liverpool and FSG’s ambition and saying they want to compete with the very richest clubs in the world:

“Liverpool is on the brink of something monumental. The owners are in talks today with some of the wealthiest investors on the planet, all with one goal in mind: to transform Liverpool into a superpower in the transfer market. This isn’t just about winning trophies; it’s about expanding the Liverpool brand globally with elite athletes.”

An exciting update, but how much truth in it?

This is certainly an update that will make Liverpool supporters sit up and take notice, in terms of the ambition the club appear to be showing currently.

It also has to be taken with a pinch of salt, however, and fans must realise that FSG are looking out for themselves before the club, and they could be planning their exit at some point.

That said, Liverpool should be looking to become the biggest powerhouse in world football – they’re not too far away already – and to see big investors and elite athletes involved is exciting.

FSG have been good owners overall, despite some errors along the way, and if they eventually leave Liverpool in great hands, it will be a strong end to their legacy.
