Liverpool’s flight to New York City was cancelled due to poor weather conditions, impacting their preparations for Wrexham and Tuesday’s new away kit launch.
Andoni Iraola and his players were due to fly into New York City from Chicago on Tuesday afternoon, only for their flight to be cancelled.
This was due to adverse weather conditions, with thunderstorms and heavy rain leaving the city under flood watch until 8pm local time on Wednesday.
Whether this will impact Liverpool’s friendly against Wrexham, which is due to kick off at Yankee Stadium at 7.30pm local time, remains to be seen.
But preparations for the second warmup game of the summer have been impacted – along with the club’s plans to unveil the new Adidas away kit.

Guests attended an event at the Refinery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Tuesday evening as Liverpool ambassadors Robbie Fowler, Ian Rush and Natasha Dowie helped showcase the new white shirt.

Liverpool will now instead travel to New York City on Wednesday with a short turnaround ahead of their meeting with Wrexham at the home of the Yankees.
The friendly could see the first involvement of the summer for Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Ryan Gravenberch, who were spotted shopping in Chicago alongside Hugo Ekitike on Tuesday.
All three players joined the squad after the 4-2 friendly win over Sunderland at the weekend, having enjoyed a three-week break after the World Cup.
Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo reported back to the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday to begin their own pre-season preparations, with it deemed more realistic that they join up with their team-mates on Liverpool’s return from America.
Alisson is yet to begin pre-season work but is expected back on Merseyside later this week or early next week having been granted further time off.
Liverpool’s new away kit features a white shirt with red details, and will be accompanied by red shorts – though the club have already released an ‘alternate’ pair of white shorts to avoid kit clashes.
