Leicester City transfer news## Leicester City have turned to Enzo Maresca's Manchester City to add to Russell Martin's squad

Leicester City have completed the loan signing of Manchester City youngster Christian McFarlane.
McFarlane, 19, becomes the third signing through the door at the King Power Stadium this summer. He joins Conor Chaplin and Alex McCarthy in bolstering Russell Martin's squad.
The left-back joins City and adds to their options. Luke Thomas is the current number one in the position with Woyo Coulibaly being utilised in pre-season and Victor Kristiansen departing for Panathinaikos.

“I'm excited and feel ready for the challenge. I’m ready to step into the men’s game and to get started," he said upon signing for the Foxes. "Being here is an opportunity for me to develop more as a player – mentally and physically - and to take my game to the next level.
“As a player, I’m intense and aggressive at both ends – attacking and defending. I like to make runs in behind and can be a bit of a nuisance for the opposition. The way [the manager] wants to play suits me perfectly, so I’m excited to get started.”
Born in England, McFarlane joined Man City in January 2025 from fellow City Group club New York City. He worked his way through the academy in the United States and made 13 appearances prior to his move to England.
Despite not yet featuring for City's first team group, the defender has been a regular for the Under-21s. Last season, he played 25 times for the young Citizens, scoring six and assisting five.
He featured twice in the EFL Trophy group stage and in Premier League 2. After missing a couple of months of action, McFarlane returned to the side in February and scored five times in eight games - assisting a further three.
The attacking wing-back scored in the 3-1 Premier League play-off win over Arsenal in April. He also put in impressive displays against Real Madrid Castilla and RB Leipzig Under-19s in the Premier League International Cup.
He has represented England at youth level and has been part of the recent Under-19s squad that includes Max Dowman, Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni and Divine Mukasa.

McFarlane will now train with his teammates ahead of Friday's open training session at the King Power Stadium and final friendly of the summer against Genoa on Saturday.
