Former Liverpool man Luis Diaz could help the Reds to win the transfer race for Bradley Barcola. The Paris Saint-Germain winger is Andoni Iraola’s number one target to replace Mohamed Salah.
As reported by the ECHO, Liverpool are yet to open formal talks with PSG over the Frenchman, with a deal expected to cost over £100 million. That is, however, unlikely to put the club off making a move.
Liverpool are not the only club linked with an interest in Barcola this summer; Arsenal and Bayern Munich are two other clubs who are said to be eyeing a possible move for the winger. But there could be a hint regarding Bayern’s stance.

It surrounds the future of Diaz, who has been a hit at the Allianz Arena since completing a £66 million move from Liverpool last summer. In his first season in Germany, he scored 26 goals and provided 23 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions.
That has led to interest from Saudi side Al-Hilal. French outlet L’Equipe reported that the club were planning on making an initial offer of at least €70 million (£60m) for the wide man. However, Sky Germany reports that Diaz has told Bayern that he wishes to stay with the club.
The German champions, therefore, are not willing to open negotiations with any club over a possible transfer, and have not set an asking price for Diaz. The Colombian has three years remaining on his contract with the club.
With Diaz’s future seemingly sorted, it should end Bayern’s interest in Barcola. With all of their attacking players staying, they are not likely to dip into the transfer market to add to that part of their squad.

Arsenal are reportedly also prioritising a move for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior ahead of Barcola. That could then leave Liverpool with a free run at the PSG man.
The French giants may have been more open to a transfer amid their interest in RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, who was also of interest to Liverpool. They have, however, been overtaken by Real Madrid.
PSG have since taken the unusual step of releasing a statement confirming that they have dropped out of the race for the Ivory Coast international.
"PSG has this evening officially withdrawn its interest and its bids for Yan Diomande," the statement read.
"The asking transfer fee and salary demands were completely disproportionate and distortive - and PSG will not break its principles of rational financial management and squad balance.
"As a two-time consecutive Champions League winner and the most successful club in recent years, PSG will also not engage in the inflationary and manipulative games of certain player agents - and will instead calmly and confidently continue its transfer planning."
