Middlesbrough have been credited with interest in signing a familiar face from Everton
Middlesbrough are reportedly in talks to re-sign goalkeeper Mark Travers on loan from Everton.
The 27-year-old is no stranger to the Riverside having spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan in North Yorkshire.
He saw out the final months of his AFC Bournemouth stay at Middlesbrough, making 17 appearances during the reign of Michael Carrick.
Everton struck a permanent deal to sign Travers later in the year, but he has since made just two senior appearances for the Toffees.

Middlesbrough credited with interest in Everton goalkeeper
According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Middlesbrough are in talks over another loan swoop for the six-cap Republic of Ireland international.
Posting on X, he said: “Middlesbrough are in talks with Everton over a potential loan deal for Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Mark Travers.”
The addition of a new goalkeeper at Middlesbrough appears likely following the expiry of Joe Wildsmith’s loan deal.
Boro boss Kim Hellberg appears to be keen on intensifying competition for Sol Brynn, who currently sits alongside Jon McLaughlin and Seny Dieng in the goalkeeping stable.
Middlesbrough linked with Premier League goalkeepers
Both Vitek and Travers are unlikely to see much action at their respective Premier League clubs next term, so a move to the Championship could be in their best interests.

Travers, a goalkeeper renowned for his shot-stopping ability, would arguably be a shrewd addition for most Championship clubs.
When he was loaned to Stoke City by Bournemouth in 2023, Stoke’s then-technical director Ricky Martin said: “For a goalkeeper of his age to have already achieved what he has in the game is rare and remarkable.
“He has featured in international football, played in the Premier League and – perhaps most importantly – was a standout performer when Bournemouth got promoted a couple of seasons ago.”
