Liverpool are targeting PSG winger Bradley Barcola this summer, and their chances of a deal have been boosted by former Reds forward Luis Diaz

Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz may have provided a boost to Liverpool's hopes of signing Bradley Barcola this summer. The Reds have been heavily linked with the PSG forward as they continue their search for a Mohamed Salah replacement.
Salah left Anfield at the end of the season, leaving Liverpool searching for a way to replace his goals and assists. Barcola seems to be the player who has come out as the number one target, although a deal is expected to cost over £100 million.
Our sister title The Liverpool ECHO reports that it is unlikely to put Andoni Iraola's side off making a move. They do, however, face competition from both Bayern Munich and Arsenal, and this is where Diaz comes in.
The Colombian has been a resounding success at the Allianz Arena since completing a £66million switch from Liverpool last summer. During his debut season in Germany, he netted 26 goals and laid on 23 assists across 51 appearances in all competitions.
That impressive form has attracted attention from Saudi outfit Al-Hilal. French publication L'Equipe claimed that the club were preparing to table an opening bid of at least €70million (£60m) for the wide man.
However, Sky Germany reports that Diaz has informed Bayern that he wishes to remain at the club. The German champions are therefore unwilling to enter into negotiations with any club regarding a potential transfer, and have not placed an asking price on Diaz.
The 29-year-old still has three years left to run on his contract at the club. With Diaz's future appearing to be settled, this should bring Bayern's pursuit of Barcola to a close. With all of their attacking options remaining in place, they are unlikely to venture into the transfer market to bolster that area of their squad.

Arsenal are also said to be prioritising a move for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior over Barcola. This could potentially leave Liverpool with a clear path to the PSG star.
The French club may have been more receptive to a transfer amid their pursuit of RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, who had also attracted Liverpool's attention. They have, however, been pipped to the post by Real Madrid.
PSG have since taken the remarkable step of issuing a statement confirming they have withdrawn from the race for the Ivory Coast international. "PSG has this evening officially withdrawn its interest and its bids for Yan Diomande," the statement read.
"The asking transfer fee and salary demands were completely disproportionate and distortive - and PSG will not break its principles of rational financial management and squad balance.
"As a two-time consecutive Champions League winner and the most successful club in recent years, PSG will also not engage in the inflationary and manipulative games of certain player agents - and will instead calmly and confidently continue its transfer planning."
