Gabriel Martinelli## Gabriel Martinelli has issued a huge life update during his time away from football but his focus will be back on Arsenal very soon

Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has confirmed on social media that he and his partner, Isabella Rousso, are now married. Ahead of jetting off to pre-season, Martinelli and Rousso tied the knot in what appeared to be a small intimate ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
On Tuesday evening, the Brazilian uploaded a number of pictures of the occasion to his Instagram story which included the pair exchanging rings and later driving off in a smart white convertible.
However, at least for the time being, there will be no honeymoon as Martinelli and fellow Brazilian Gabriel are scheduled to join up with Arsenal team in Girona before their friendly on Saturday, August 1. Their national team were knocked out of the World Cup by Martin Odegaard's Norway just over three weeks ago.
As such, they have received the required amount of rest which permits them to start pre-season training. Arsenal are yet to play a proper friendly but have won a behind-closed doors friendly against MK Dons.
Reiss Nelson, Ethan Nwaneri and Ceadach O’Neill were on target in that 3-0 victory at the club's Sobha Realty Training Centre with new signing Christos Tzolis bagging an assist.

Mikel Arteta's squad are now due to fly out to Spain later this week to continue their preparations ahead of defending their Premier League title crown.
While games against Girona and Real Betis, before returning to London to play Borussia Dortmund and Como, will be Arteta's priority, sporting director Andrea Berta and his team are firmly focused on transfers.
Vinicius Jr is their current No.1 target at left wing but a deal to sign the Real Madrid star appears extremely complicated due to the finances involved.
football.london understands that his future is yet to be decided and it is too soon to guarantee the winger will stay in the Spanish capital.
If Arsenal were to complete the remarkable deal, it could put Martinelli's place in the squad in jeopardy given he would be directly competing against two new signings in Vincius and Tzolis.
Declan Rice appears to be another Arsenal at risk of losing his starting spot but that is merely down to his fitness and ongoing injury issues after England reached the World Cup semi-finals.
However, Arteta is hoping to have a ready-made replacement for the start of the season with Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes being targeted.

Having also featured for Brazil at the World Cup, Guimaraes should return to the Magpies soon and it will be interesting to see if he is involved in any pre-season outings. They play Bristol City on Wednesday evening before taking on Valencia in Spain next Saturday.
A defensive addition has also been suggested following the injury to William Saliba with Aston Villa's Ezri Konsa among names linked.
