Liverpool are believed to have made contact with Bournemouth winger Rayan over a summer move to Anfield, as they look to sign both him and Bradley Barcola.
All the current talk surrounds the Reds’ pursuits of Paris Saint-Germain and France star Barcola, with Fabrizio Romano among those to provide a key recent update:
“Bradley Barcola wants to join Liverpool and there’s no doubt on that, as reported since May. LFCproject is his priority – but any financial agreement is yet to be approved, done or sealed. Seen as natural step but at the right time. Talks will take place in the next days on player side.”
But it looks as though Barcola isn’t the only winger that Liverpool are looking to bring in, with TEAMtalk now reporting that they have “made contact” with Bournemouth regarding Rayan’s availability.
The Reds have also “sought” Andoni Iraola’s assessment of the 19-year-old, with Spaniard a “huge admirer of the youngster and believes his ceiling is exceptionally high.”
Liverpool are far from Rayan’s only admirers, however, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG are all believed to be “monitoring” his progress currently.
Rayan: Perfect Mo Salah replacement at Liverpool?
There are so many boxes that Rayan ticks for Liverpool, with the Brazilian having Mohamed Salah’s ability to cut inside onto his left foot and wreak havoc from the right wing.
At 19, there is so much more to come, as long as he can avoid serious injury, and Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that the sky is the limit for him, saying:
“He did a complete job. Offensive and defensive. I am satisfied with the game he played. He is young, he has maturity and he works hard. Nobody knows the level he can reach.”
If Liverpool managed to sign Barcola on the left wing and Rayan on the right, it could transform their attack, with Florian Wirtz suddenly having pace around him in the No.10 role and Alexander Isak also benefiting.
Whether the Reds actually have the funds to spend around £250m on two players this summer remains to be seen, but it would feel significant if both came in.
