Fabrizio Romano has settled the situation surrounding Nicolas Jackson and a potential loan move to Aston Villa once and for all.
Speaking on X, he said: “Nicolas Jackson to Aston Villa on loan rumours are fake news. Jackson can’t join Aston Villa on loan as Garnacho has joined Villa on loan already.”
As mentioned, Aston Villa’s temporary move for Alejandro Garnacho is the exact reason a loan for Nicolas Jackson is dead in the water. Premier League regulations strictly forbid any club from taking more than one player on loan from the same rival at a time.
However, that doesn’t completely kill Unai Emery’s plans. If Villa want to reunite Jackson with his former manager, their only remaining path is a permanent deal, provided they are willing to meet Chelsea’s asking price this transfer window.
And Chelsea’s valuation was around £60 million for Jackson, even after his loan at Bayern Munich, which saw them refuse to pay the clause to sign him permanently.
