“According to a source with knowledge of the Bruno Guimarães situation, Arsenal are close to signing a centre-back to solve the problems caused by William Saliba’s injury, at least in the short term.
“They haven’t told me who the player is yet. I’m trying to find out so I can help our colleagues in England as well, but this deal is expected to be completed even quicker than the Bruno Guimarães deal. It’s extremely close.”
It remains to be seen who the mystery defender is, but Arsenal now appear to be closing in on Saliba’s short-term replacement.
