Middlesbrough are in talks with Everton over a possible loan move for goalkeeper Mark Travers, according to reports.
The Championship club are looking to strengthen their goalkeeping options ahead of the new season and have identified the Republic of Ireland international as a target.
Travers only joined Everton earlier this summer after completing a permanent move from Bournemouth. The 27-year-old arrived to add depth and experience to David Moyes’ squad, with Jordan Pickford remaining the club’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper.
A temporary move to the Riverside could hand Travers the regular first-team football that is likely to be difficult to secure at Everton while Pickford is fit and available.
Discussions between the two clubs are understood to be ongoing, although there is no agreement at this stage and it remains to be seen whether a deal can be completed.
Travers is no stranger to Middlesbrough, having spent part of the 2024/25 season on loan at the Championship club, where he made 17 league appearances. A return would offer familiarity for both player and club.
Everton have already reshaped some areas of Moyes’ squad this summer, and further movement is expected before the transfer window closes.
While arrivals have dominated much of the club’s ongoing business, attention is also beginning to turn towards players who could leave on loan in search of regular minutes.
Travers appears to be among those attracting interest, with Middlesbrough now attempting to secure his return.
