An update on Chelsea forward Liam Delap following links to Leeds United
Leeds United have been distanced from Chelsea’s Liam Delap amid speculation regarding the forward’s future at Stamford Bridge.
The 23-year-old only joined Chelsea last summer, sealing a move from Ipswich Town for a fee reported to be in the region of £30m.
He has since made 47 appearances for the London club across all competitions, scoring three goals and registering five assists.

Leeds United distanced from Liam Delap
Reports in recent days have credited Leeds, Everton and Newcastle United with interest in the frontman, who is under contract at Chelsea until 2031.
The Yorkshire Post understands Leeds are not currently pursuing a deal for the former England youth international.
Plenty can change over the course of a transfer window and Leeds are not blessed with a vast array of options at the top end of the pitch.
However, a return to Yorkshire for the former Hull City loanee does not appear to be on the cards as it stands.
Delap spent the 2023/24 season at Hull, seeing out the final year of his Manchester City spell on loan in East Yorkshire. He thrived under the tutelage of Liam Rosenior and was later reunited with him for a brief period at Stamford Bridge.
Leeds United’s summer transfer business
Leeds have made two signings so far this summer, forking out £34m to prise defender Tarik Muharemović from Sassuolo and landing winger Harry Wilson on a free transfer from Fulham.
Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford could potentially become the club’s third summer recruit, with reports having suggested a £40m deal is close to being struck.

There has been considerably more activity on the outgoings front, with Leeds having offloaded some of their fringe players who were unlikely to see much action in the upcoming Premier League campaign.
The likes of Illan Meslier, Isaac Schmidt, Max Wober and Jack Harrison have all sealed permanent moves away from Elland Road.
Leeds have also sold Pascal Struijk to Brighton & Hove Albion and lost Karl Darlow to Manchester United, but had been keen for the pair to stay put.
