The Bradley Barcola transfer saga is shaping up to be a slow burn for Liverpool, as the Reds will play hardball on Paris Saint-Germain's valuation of the French international.
PSG's current asking price of £145million ($192 million) would represent a Premier League record fee. The Reds are prepared to bid closer to £100 million ($132 million), per James Pearce of The Athletic, with formal talks between the two sides ongoing.
Barcola, 23, is interested in a move to Merseyside and is not inclined to extend his contract at PSG, where he has two years remaining. The winger has scored 34 goals over the last two years as the Parisians have repeated as Champions League winners.
Barcola played eight times for France at the 2026 World Cup — mostly as an impact substitute for PSG teammate Desire Doue — and scored three goals.
He spent the majority of last season playing on the left wing, meaning he would not profile entirely as a direct replacement for the departing Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool has already signed Spanish World Cup winner Victor Munoz, also mostly a left-winger, and have Cody Gakpo (best on the left) and Rio Ngumoha (likes to play on the left) already at the club.
Harvey Elliott, returning from a disastrous loan spell at Aston Villa, is a left-footed player who is in a strong position to earn game time on the right.

Speaking exclusively with Liverpool.com, former England international Shaun Wright-Phillips shared that he doesn't think Liverpool should splash major cash on another flashy wing signing. Instead, the club should hand more minutes to the 17-year-old Ngumoha.
“Do you need to when you've got Rio Ngumoha there [to replace Mohamed Salah]? I think maybe this might be the time to just let him go and play. You don't need to go out and spend a hundred million on a winger when you don't know how they'll adapt," he said, on behalf of Jackpot City Casino.
“It's the Premier League, you might be able to do it elsewhere, but can you replicate that here? It's hard to say. So why hinder the growth of Rio if you've got time now to play him?"

“I can imagine they will sign somebody, but perhaps not a massive name when there's no need. They have the quality already. Rio showed it in the practice matches for England before the World Cup; he was probably [England's] best winger through those matches.
