As Liverpool prepares for its second friendly of their preseason tour in the United States, some of the club's legends have been taking in the sights of New York City.
The Reds got off to a winning start under Andoni Iraola over the weekend as they defeated Sunderland 4-2 in Nashville. Liverpool initially took the lead through youngster Kieran Morrison but had to come from behind in the second half after its Premier League opponent turned the game on its head.
Now, the Reds are preparing for a clash with Championship side Wrexham at Yankee Stadium in New York City. Liverpool has also been boosted by the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Ryan Gravenberch.
Although adverse weather conditions have disrupted the first team's travel plans from Chicago, club representatives, including legends Robbie Fowler, Ian Rush, Phil Thompson and Natasha Dowie, are already in New York City.
Earlier this week, they visited the Empire State Building and were surprised to meet British and American comedian John Oliver.
"F------ hell it's John Oliver," Fowler can be heard saying in a clip shared by LFC TV. Oliver, 49, whose mother is from Liverpool, is a lifelong supporter of the Reds and shared that he will also be taking his son to his first game when Liverpool takes on Wrexham.
"It'll be great to see not just the game in general. I'm really excited to see the first little signs of what (Andoni) Iraola's football is going to look like. More than most preseason games, it's going to be fascinating to watch.

"It'll be my lad's first game. I'm bringing him along and it'll be his first game."
New York City is Liverpool's second stop on its preseason tour of the United States. This weekend, the Reds will return to Chicago for the final stop, with a friendly against Premier League team Leeds United.
Then, Iraola's men will return to England for friendlies against Monaco and Como at Anfield. Liverpool's Premier League campaign begins on August 23 with an away trip to Newcastle United at St. James' Park.
Liverpool's first competitive home fixture under the new head coach comes at the end of August as Oliver Glasner's Nottingham Forest makes the trip to Merseyside.

It is hoped Iraola's more front-footed style of play will lead to better results both domestically and in Europe after the Reds scraped to a fifth-place finish before Arne Slot's departure at the end of last season.
