With every major tournament come breakout stars who establish themselves on the world stage, and transfer rumors inevitably follow.

At this summer's World Cup, co-hosts USA made headlines for a number of reasons, both good and bad. Mauricio Pochettino would have hoped to guide the team to its best finish since 2002, but it was eliminated in the Round of 16, just as it was in Qatar in 2022.

Still, given this year's edition was the first of the expanded tournament, it was not a catastrophic finish, and a number of players impressed. Former USMNT goalkeeper Brad Friedel represented Liverpool during his playing career and remains the only American to have played for the Reds in a competitive match.

With the transfer window in full swing, Friedel has named some of the current USMNT players who may be of interest to new head coach Andoni Iraola this summer. So far, Liverpool has made just two additions, with defender Jeremy Jacquet finally completing his move from Rennes and World Cup winner Victor Munoz joining from Osasuna.

The biggest name Friedel believes is ready for a club of Liverpool's size and stature is left back Antonee Robinson. The defender was tentatively linked with a switch to Anfield last year before the club opted to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

"I think (Antonee) Robinson could play at a club like Liverpool," Friedel explained, speaking with Betting Sites, where you can review the best sportsbooks. "I know they will know him from Fulham.

"(Who else is) ready right now for Liverpool? I'm not sure. But he's a very good player."

Chris Richards is also on the former goalkeeper's list as an established Premier League defender for Crystal Palace, while Weston McKennie is currently on Juventus' books. However, a slightly more intriguing option could be Villarreal's Alex Freeman, who, at 21, is yet to truly establish himself at the highest level.

Friedel added: "(Alex) Freeman; he's at Villarreal, but again, that's another step. They would have to end up scouting Freeman.

"Freeman would be an interesting one to monitor for the scouting department because he's also a great lad. He's hungry, and nothing really fazes him."

Interestingly, as a right back, Freeman plays in one of the key positions Liverpool arguably needs to strengthen before the transfer deadline. Conor Bradley is still recovering from a serious injury, while Jeremie Frimpong is yet to stake a claim for a starting role despite joining from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
