Chelsea fans have been awaiting the announcement of the signing of defender Maxence Lacroix for a number of days now, however Crystal Palace are delaying just for now.
The Blues have identified Lacroix as the perfect addition to the already-bloated central defence position, with a number of exits still expected this summer.
Any number of Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Trevoh Chalobah could still depart the club before the window shuts and the new season begins.

It has been universally reported that Lacroix to Chelsea is a done deal, however he has yet to be unveiled by the club like Morgan Rogers and Marco Palestra already have.
However, this is down to Palace, and them awaiting some of their own business to be concluded before giving Chelsea the final green light.

Simon Phillips stated on his Substack that Palace have gone as far as asking Chelsea not to make an announcement yet due to them finalising other deals.
He said: “ALL contracts have been signed for Maxence Lacroix to join Chelsea. On Chelsea’s side, it’s all done, medical completed, and media work done ready for an announcement.
“Palace have asked Chelsea to hold off making an official announcement until they finalise other discussions they have ongoing.”

Lacroix will be hoping to join up with Chelsea’s pre-season tour at the end of the week, although the clash against Tottenham at the weekend is likely to come too soon for him to feature in.
Blues fans may have to wait until the following friendly against Juventus to see the France international in action for his new club.
