Manchester United continue their pre-season preparations with a friendly against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
The Red Devils were beaten 1-0 by Championship outfit Wrexham in their first friendly of the summer, but bounced back with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Norwegian outfit Rosenborg on Friday.
Michael Carrick will hope to see his side build on that performance when they face Atletico, before further friendly fixtures against Paris Saint-Germain, Leeds United and AC Milan.
In the meantime, though, it has been revealed that Manchester United have made a decision on whether or not to pursue one of their former transfer targets.
As per TEAMtalk, those in charge of Man United’s recruitment have decided against pursuing a move to sign striker Liam Delap from Chelsea this summer.

United were linked with a move for Delap prior to his 2025 move to Chelsea, while he was with former club Ipswich Town.
The Englishman netted 12 Premier League goals during the 2024/25 campaign, despite the Tractor Boys’ relegation.
His move to Stamford Bridge has not gone to plan so far, though, with the striker netting just three times in 47 games for the Blues so far.
It is claimed that Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso has decided that Delap will be able to leave the club this summer, and the player’s representatives have been sounding out potential suitors, the report suggests.
Delap’s representatives are said to have been in contact with Leeds United as well as Manchester United, but the latter have decided against exploring a move for the player at this time.
The Englishman is under contract at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2030/31 campaign, but it appears increasingly likely that he will depart the club during the current transfer window.
