'No' - Jamie Carragher explains why Bradley Barcola isn't the player to replace Salah at…

Liverpool want to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Bradley Barcola as Reds manager Andoni Iraola prepares for life at Anfield next season.

Liverpool want to replace Mohamed Salah and they have identified the France international as a top target.

However, Reds legend Jamie Carragher is not convinced that Barcola is the player to replace the Egyptian at the Merseyside club.

The former Liverpool star took to social media this evening to react to the news, explaining why the PSG star is not the player his former club should be targeting.

No he plays on the opposite flank!

LFC currently have three players who could play from the left in Rio/Gakpo/Wirtz & no one who plays from the right 🤷‍♂️ https://t.co/3kTeL2zmYQ

Barcola predominantly plays on the left, but he can also feature on the right and through the middle.

He is open to joining Liverpool, with the Reds willing to spend around £100 million to acquire his services.

Iraola will be desperate to sign a player capable of replacing Salah, and the PSG star could struggle to replicate his numbers.

Victor Munoz has been signed from Osasuna, and the Spain international attacker will hope to hit the ground running in the Premier League next term.

The 23-year-old ended last term with six goals and two assists in 34 La Liga games.

He won the World Cup with Spain but did not make any appearances at the tournament.

Liverpool were underwhelming last season, eventually leading to the sacking of Arne Slot and Iraola has been tasked with turning things around.

The new Reds boss will hope to hit the ground running when the 2026-27 campaign starts, and he is eager to strengthen his attack this summer.
