The teenage forward had become one of the most sought-after academy players available after his contract with Crystal Palace expired earlier this summer.
Palace were keen to retain Bernard and are understood to have offered the striker improved terms in an attempt to convince him to remain at Selhurst Park.
However, the young forward has now chosen Arsenal, handing the Premier League champions another significant boost in their academy recruitment.
