Jordan Henderson is expected to be announced as a new Chelsea player by the end of the week after Brentford announced their own, confirming Henderson had been released.

Brentford fans are raging after their club’s Henderson post
Brentford went into the 2025-26 season with many predicting relegation, after losing Thomas Frank and some of their key players. But Henderson and the rest of the Brentford team carried the Bees to ninth.

One supporter said, “After his behaviour at Liverpool away on the final day, I can safely say he won’t be missed”. Another Brentford fan simply said “selfish”, as Henderson departs Chelsea’s London rivals.

The frustration also centres around how he paraded himself at Anfield last season, with another adding: “Lost the plot in the last game and seemed to forget which team he was playing for,” after the post.

The criticism continued to pile in, with one supporter posting “shameful and pathetic”, while one said that a move to Chelsea “would hurt”. Ultimately, that’s where Henderson is set to go, signing until June 2028.
It is believed that while Henderson will sign shortly, he will not join Chelsea on their pre-season tour. It might be that the midfielder is still recovering from the injury he sustained while on World Cup duty.
