Andoni Iraola has named his starting XI to take on Wrexham in New York, a few days after he won his first match in charge of Liverpool against Sunderland in Nashville.

Giorgi Mamardashvili is in goal, with Calvin Ramsay, Ifeanye Ndukwe, Luke Chambers and Milos Kerkez making up the rest of the back four. Dominik Szoboszlai, Harvey Elliott and Trey Nyoni are in midfield.

Josh Abe, Lewis Koumas and Calum Scanlon make up the rest of the starting XI. Joe Gomez, who limped off after seven minutes against Sunderland last weekend, is not involved in the matchday squad, with the Reds lacking options in defense.

This week, Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Ryan Gravenberch all joined up with their teammates in the US. However, none are set to feature in this game as it comes too soon.

Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo are training back on Merseyside and will meet their new boss, Iraola, when the rest of the squad return.

Pre-season will be vital for Iraola to get his message across ahead of the new season kicking off. The Reds will face Newcastle in their Premier League opener in under a month.

"I like (working with Iraola)," Kerkez told club channels ahead of the game. "You see me higher. I can play higher, going one against one.

"I still need to work a bit to get the legs but this is why this is pre-season and [it was] some good minutes (against Sunderland).

"I'm really proud of everyone and we're working really hard this pre-season. You can see in training sessions that everyone is happy. We know what we have to do. A big season ahead.

"It's my fourth year in the Premier League. Obviously, my first year was development; it was tough. I needed to get in the gym a bit more.

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.

"That's normal when you come to the biggest league in the world — it is so far ahead of any league. You need to build that physicality, you need to build the legs.

"We're all helping the young lads. There is a lot of quality and we need to help them. They will improve. I'm really, really happy with everyone and we build on this."

Liverpool will be sporting its new white away jersey for the game. Its design was revealed at an event in New York ahead of this fixture, with Adidas' design having gone down well with fans so far.
