Liverpool are without their trio of recently returned World Cup players against Wrexham, with Andoni Iraola turning to a youth again – including 16-year-old Josh Abe.
Ryan Gravenberch, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak reported back for training on Sunday after their summer break, but have not been named for the second pre-season friendly in New York.
Giorgi Mamardashvili starts in goal behind a young centre-back pairing of Luke Chambers – who is a left-back by trade – and Ifeanyi Ndukwe, with Calvin Ramsay and Milos Kerkez on either side.
Trey Nyoni and Dominik Szoboszlai are the two deepest midfielders in a likely 4-2-3-1 set-up.
It leaves Harvey Elliott acting as the No. 10 – and the most experienced attacker – behind 16-year-old Josh Abe, Calum Scanlon and Lewis Koumas.
Rotation in the second half is still expected, but Iraola will likely push more players towards the 75-minute mark after several played close to 70 last time out.
Liverpool, who are making their third visit to Yankee Stadium, are debuting their new Adidas away kit against the Championship’s Wrexham.
Federico Chiesa is a notable absentee alongside the World Cup trio, with Jeremy Jacquet and Joe Gomez also sidelined.
