Liverpool continue their U.S. pre-season tour with a clash against Wrexham.
Following a 4-2 victory over Sunderland in Andoni Iraola’s first game in charge in Nashville on Saturday, Liverpool continue their U.S. pre-season tour with a clash against Wrexham at the iconic Yankee Stadium in New York.
The Welsh side, backed by their Hollywood ownership, are expected to provide a strong test after narrowly missing out on the Championship play-offs last season.

With Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Ryan Gravenberch now back with the squad, Iraola will use the fixture as another opportunity to implement his ideas ahead of the new campaign.
Milos Kerkez and Dominik Szoboszlai start Liverpool’s second pre-season friendly of the U.S. tour, with Szoboszlai wearing the captain’s armband.
However, according to Liverpool Echo’s Paul Gorst, Isak, Gravenberch and Wirtz have remained in Chicago after only recently rejoining the squad and are not yet ready for match action. Federico Chiesa has also missed the fixture through illness.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com ahead of the game against Wrexham, head coach Iraola said: “We are obviously missing Joe [Gomez] from the other day, he got injured.
“We have decided the ones that have just been training – Alex, Flo, Ryan, even Jeremy – to leave them for the next game. I think they will all be involved against Leeds. We have work to do today with more of the young players.”
Chiesa scored as Liverpool began life under Iraola with a 4-2 victory over Sunderland last Saturday. However, Iraola’s reign got off to a difficult start when Joe Gomez, who captained the side and started at centre-back, was forced off with an injury in the eighth minute.
The Spanish coach, who replaced Arne Slot at Anfield in June, was pleased with the quality of football produced by Liverpool in the Nashville heat, particularly the impressive team move that resulted in Kieran Morrison opening the scoring after 13 minutes.
Both Iraola and Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris made several changes at half-time, with the Reds improving after the break to overturn a 2-1 deficit.
Szoboszlai levelled the score with a trademark long-range strike before substitutes Chiesa and Lewis Koumas completed the comeback.
