Enzo Maresca has named 16 youngsters in his Manchester City squad to tour Asia. With seven senior stars missing both weeks of the trip and others only joining in Korea, the first team has been supplemented by a host of promising talent.
They include players that already have first team experience, such as Brazilian defender Vitor Reis, Argentine playmaker Claudio Echeverri, and English centre-backs Max Alleyne and Steph Mfuni. And there are also youngsters who have only played at academy level, where they have excelled enough to earn their shot to impress Maresca this summer.
Plenty can expect minutes in the three matches coming up against Inter, Atletico and a K-League XI across the next fortnight. They will also be closely watched in training sessions to see if any are ready to step up and join the first team for the season.
