Everton are yet again working on a deal to bring Jack Grealish back to the club, though no agreement has been reached with Manchester City.
The 30-year-old remains keen on a return, according to The Bobble. It is the latest in a string of updates on his situation this summer, following months of speculation over his future.
As reported here last week, City are reluctant to loan Grealish out again and want a fee instead, having signed him for £100m in 2021. That changes the shape of any deal. It is not yet clear whether Everton have accepted a permanent transfer will be needed, or whether a loan with an obligation to buy remains an option. The Bobble’s report does not specify.
Grealish has been training away from his City teammates in Mallorca while the club toured Asia without him. The club say his absence is down to the foot injury that ended his Everton loan in January.
Talks between the two clubs stalled earlier in the window. Given how often the situation has shifted since the end of last season, this points to progress rather than a finished deal.
