Liverpool are running out of time to add to their attacking options as the 2026-27 Premier League season edges closer to kicking off.
Andoni Iraola has managed to get Victor Munoz through the door at Anfield, but the Spaniard is yet to join his teammates in pre-season after his exploits at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Even otherwise, the Reds need more quality in attack. Bradley Barcola is in talks to join Liverpool from PSG, which could help their case a little bit.
And it appears as if the first domino is about to fall in the French international’s move to Anfield in the form of Maghnes Akliouche.
Liverpool target Maghnes Akliouche edging closer to PSG
Akliouche has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
However, his preference has always been to join PSG. And while that is a blow for Liverpool, his move to the French capital could open the doors for Barcola to leave, which is ultimately what Iraola wants.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Akliouche is now close to joining Luis Enrique’s side as he provided an early morning update on his X account.

Liverpool are losing out on one of their transfer targets, but Akliouche’s move to PSG will help their pursuit of Barcola, so this feels like a win-win for the two European giants and the players involved.
