Everton
Everton star Iliman Ndiaye’s father has said his son will continue at the Premier League side amid the Al-Hilal links.
Over the past few days, there have been multiple claims from the UK and elsewhere about Al-Hilal’s interest.
These reports stated that Everton value the Senegal international at over £70m [€81.6m].
On Wednesday, Sport Witness covered claims from Saudi Arabia that the Middle East club are offering a weekly salary of £270k [€314.9k]. There was no mention of a bid to David Moyes’ side.
Star wants Everton stay
These details may not matter because the forward’s father, Mouhamadou Abdoulaye Ndiaye, has said his son won’t leave Everton. Senegal’s Wiw Sport have relayed his comments.
He even talked about joking with Iliman Ndiaye about the latest claims of Al-Hilal’s interest.
“Many people called me to tell me that Iliman was going to leave. But rest assured, he’s not going anywhere,” he said.
“He called me this morning. I even teased him with a few words in Arabic, and we had a good laugh. He let me know he had no intention of going to Saudi Arabia.”
The father admits that from a sporting point of view, a move to Saudi Arabia would be a downgrade for him.
“He knows he can earn a lot of money there, but he also thinks his level could drop. He’s not the type to prioritise money over his career,” Ndiaye Sr explained.
This should come as big encouragement for David Moyes and the Toffees.
Everton player’s big ambitions
Mouhamadou Abdoulaye Ndiaye also talked about the 26-year-old’s goals, especially with the national team.
“He still has plans. He knows he has to keep working harder. Senegal needs him, just as he needs Senegal. Everything he does today, he does for his country,” he added.
“His fight is to win another Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, win the World Cup and one day become Ballon d’Or winner. That’s what motivates him today.”
