Youssouf Fofana struggled at AC Milan last season and the midfielder is on the radar of both Crystal Palace and Everton.
The Frenchman joined the Rossoneri from Monaco in 2024 and his first season was impressive. Despite the club’s instability, Fofana showed he was one of their most important players, but the opposite happened in the 2025/26 season.
He failed to adapt to Max Allegri’s system, never becoming a regular under the Italian.
This has encouraged question marks about his future at the San Siro. Sport Witness have covered interest from English clubs like West Ham, Tottenham and Newcastle United, who wouldn’t have problems affording Milan’s asking price.
Fofana’s future has become a topic of discussion again, with Everton and Crystal Palace in the mix for his signature.
Player aware of uncertainty

This has convinced some at the club that he is incapable of performing regularly at the highest level and Fofana is aware of the question marks around his future.

Still, it is not certain he will stay. Doubts have grown further, as Crystal Palace have made initial contact for his signature. Everton have also come forward.

Even if Fofana struggled last season, it was clear he never fit Allegri’s defensive system. That is why his best came under Paulo Fonseca, whose setup allowed Milan to dominate possession more often and the midfielder was able to use his athleticism well.
It is his physical traits that can be very useful for both Crystal Palace and Everton. Fofana also thrives on breaking forward and at 27, he is at the peak of his powers. A move for €20m could be good for any English club right now.
