Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for a new series, a new fly-on-the-wall docuseries following former Liverpool star
Prime Video has built a reputation for taking football fans behind the scenes, with its acclaimed All or Nothing series providing unprecedented access to some of the biggest clubs in the game.
The documentary franchise has followed Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Juventus through entire seasons, capturing dressing-room team talks, tactical meetings, transfer decisions and the personalities behind the results on the pitch.

The streaming platform has also expanded its football catalogue beyond All or Nothing. In 2025, it released Doubters to Believers: Liverpool FC – Klopp’s Era, a four-part documentary charting Jurgen Klopp’s nine-year spell at Anfield.
Prime Video is now taking a different approach with its latest sports production.
Rather than following a football club through a competitive season, the platform has unveiled the official trailer for Meet the Owens, a six-part fly-on-the-wall docuseries that follows the life of a former football star long after his retirement from the game.
According to Prime Video, all six episodes will be released on 28 August 2026 in the UK and Ireland.
The new series centres on former Liverpool, Real Madrid and England striker Michael Owen, who has built a successful second career in horse racing since hanging up his boots.
Produced by Whisper, Meet the Owens follows Owen, his wife Louise and their four children as they balance running a horse racing business with the demands of everyday family life.
Unlike Prime Video’s football documentaries, which focus on the pressures of elite competition, Meet the Owens shifts the spotlight to life away from the game.
Cameras follow the family at Manor House Stables, Owen’s 170-acre racing operation in Cheshire, as they navigate the challenges of managing horses while supporting the ambitions of each family member.
The official trailer offers a lighter side to Owen than football supporters have often seen during his playing and punditry career.
It opens with the former Ballon d’Or winner joking about his public image before moving into candid family moments, with his wife and children sharing humorous stories about life at home. The footage also shows Owen embracing his new sporting passion, describing horse racing as the focus of his life after football.
One of the documentary’s central storylines follows daughter Gemma Owen as she pursues her own ambitions in horse racing. Prime Video says the series documents her efforts to swap television for the saddle as she trains with the aim of riding at Glorious Goodwood, while son James hopes to join the family business despite living with a degenerative eye condition.
Emily, meanwhile, is attempting to become the first member of the Owen family to attend university, while youngest daughter Jessica dreams of becoming an Olympic showjumper.
The series also explores the pressures of maintaining a top-level racing operation. Owen established Manor House Stables during his playing career before later partnering with Betfair co-founder Andrew Black, with the facility now featuring more than 100 horse boxes, an uphill gallop and an equine swimming pool.
