RB Leipzig are considering a move for Everton’s Tyler Dibling
Everton’s Tyler Dibling remains on RB Leipzig’s radar as they get set to enter the market to replace Yan Diomande.
BILD Saxony report on the situation at Leipzig today and how the Everton man remains on Leipzig’s list after interest last year.
Diomande exit key
The newspaper explains that training has continued at the German club, despite the ‘transfer whirlwind’ around the club. That is largely focused on Yan Diomande.
The 19-year-old is currently training on an individual basis, with discussions regarding his future ongoing. Real Madrid remain in pole position for him, with Leipzig demanding €120m to sanction a sale.
Despite a huge fee like that being on offer, there are ‘critical voices’ at the club to the idea. It would need the approval of local RB bosses but also the supervisory board, led by Oliver Mintzlaff.
It would also require the club to have replacements lined up. The club want four strong wingers to help them compete in three competitions next season.
Everton man on shortlist
The club are prepared on that front. They have already draw up a shortlist of options. Everton’s Tyler Dibling is on that list.
The 20-year-old was a target last year, but Everton stepped ahead of Leipzig, signing him in a €40m deal from Southampton. His first year on Merseyside was a difficult one, to say the least.
The youngster did not settle or impress David Moyes but has been handed a more prominent role in pre-season so far. With Iliman Ndiaye potentially departing, that also opens up a space for him to stake a claim this season.
But then if Leipzig were to offer Everton a chance to recover their money, and Dibling a fresh start elsewhere, that could be tempting for both parties. For now, it all depends on Diomande.
If his move to Real Madrid is finalised as expected, Leipzig will have the funds to enter the market strongly, and the Everton man is on their list of options for replacements.
