An estate agent asked an Arsenal and England football legend if he "knew London" during a move back to the capital city from the Cotswolds.
Tony Adams has parted with his eight‑bedroom home near Cirencester, which he bought in 2002 with his wife, Poppy Teacher.
Set in around five acres, the property boasts a swimming pool, tennis courts, stables and a separate two‑bedroom cottage, and has been snapped up by Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.
Reports say the singer paid about £4 million for the house, with no mortgage involved.

Mr Adams explained that the decision to sell was driven by a major change in Ms Teacher’s plans.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential column, the 59-year-old said: "This is a new era for us.
"We’ve sold the house and are returning to London. My wife is going back to school."
Ms Teacher is beginning a master’s degree in early modern history, and the couple have chosen to relocate to the capital to make that possible.

Now, Richard Eden has revealed in today's Daily Mail that Mr Adams was asked by an estate agent in the capital if he "knew London" despite playing for Arsenal for almost two decades.
He wrote: "Further to my item yesterday about Tony Adams selling his £4 million Gloucestershire home and moving to London, where his wife, Poppy Teacher, is going to university, I hear about one property they looked at in Camden.
"The seller was unaware of the identity of the former Arsenal footballer. He asked Adams if he knew the area, as he was moving from the Cotswolds.
"Wryly, he replied: 'I worked in north London for 19 years.'"
