Everton and Crystal Palace have now joined the race to sign AC Milan's Youssouf Fofana, with the Italian giants ready to green light the midfielder's exit at a bargain price.
The two Premier League sides have endured slow starts to the summer transfer window, with Pierre Sage yet to really make his mark at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles have so far welcomed just one player in Oscar Mingueza, who arrived on a free. It's a worrying sign for those in South London and it makes a move for Fofana all the more important.
Who should sign Youssouf Fofana?
Everton
Crystal Palace
With less than a month to go before the Premier League campaign gets underway, Fofana has suddenly become one to watch.
Everton and Crystal Palace gifted green light to sign Fofana
As reported by journalist Daniele Longo and relayed by Sport Witness, Everton and Crystal Palace now have the green light to sign Fofana. AC Milan are ready to sell their midfielder if they receive just €20m (£17m). That is a bargain price for a player who has featured at the top level.
It wasn't the easiest time for Fofana last season, either. The 27-year-old was part of a side which failed to finish inside the top four, but his personal contribution saw him hit five goal involvements.
Crystal Palace have already launched contact to secure his signature, whilst Everton have simply joined the race. Whether the Toffees turn their interest into similar contact remains to be seen.
Everton seriously considering Liam Delap approach
It's not just Fofana on Everton's radar. Alongside the midfielder, the Merseyside club are also seriously considering a move for Liam Delap. Chelsea are ready to sell their striker at the right price following a disappointing debut campaign, and Everton could take full advantage.

The Toffees have certainly got a striker problem to solve, too. Beto and Thierno Barry both struggled at times in the last campaign and welcoming a new forward should be Friedkin's top priority this summer.
