Arsenal transfer news## Vinicius Jr is an Arsenal transfer target for this summer and a move for the Real Madrid star could be linked to Gabriel Martinelli's future

Arsenal could raise funds for Vinicius Jr by selling Gabriel Martinelli with reports in Italy claiming AS Roma are interested in the latter. The Gunners have already replaced Leandro Trossard with Christos Tzolis and there is possibly more movement at left wing to come involving Vinicius and Martinelli.

Despite claims that he is set to stay at Real Madrid, football.london understands his future is yet to be decided with it too soon to guarantee he won't leave the Spanish capital.

It has already been a very busy summer window for Real with Yan Diomande set to arrive as their big-money signing. That may result in a big sale being needed but to afford Vinicius, Arsenal themselves could do with sanctioning a marquee first-team exit.

Given his position and profile, it would make sense for Martinelli to be sold with the chances of that scenario actually playing out increasing as Roma have asked for information on the Arsenal star, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.

Real's Endrick has been suggested as another option though it is specifically stated that deal would be a loan. At 25 and with plenty of years playing in the Premier League, the Gunners could demand a sizeable fee for Martinelli.

It is already known that the Italian side have roughly €50million (£42.6m) available to sign a new winger having submitted several bids around that value for Crysencio Summerville. Martinelli potentially leaving for that amount would see him become Arsenal's record sale.

The fee in itself would give Mikel Arteta and Co. a nice financial boost but it would also make space in the squad and get wages off the books to free up plenty of funds for Vinicius.

Roma are still in search of a new winger as they were financially blown out of the water by Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal for Summerville, after they agreed to pay £60m for the West Ham star.

Considering the money that has been thrown around in this transfer window, a deal for Vinicius is likely to be significant. However, Bruno Guimaraes may be Arsenal's current focus following Eddie Howe's decision to leave Newcastle United.

Having sold Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali already this summer, Howe has lost two big players and appeared resigned to losing a third in Guimaraes which is seemingly what convinced him to depart immediately.

In addition to Vinicius Jr and Guimaraes, a defender signing is under consideration following the injury to William Saliba. Ezri Konsa of Aston Villa and Como's Jacobo Ramon have been linked.
