Maghnes Akliouche is closing in on a move after Monaco accepted a bid worth €50 million
Liverpool’s search for attacking reinforcements has seen the club linked with several high-profile names during the summer transfer window.
Following reports of interest in players including Bradley Barcola, Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche has also featured prominently among the forwards admired by the Reds as Andoni Iraola continues to reshape his squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Merseyside club made an initial approach to Monaco earlier this month to assess the availability of the France international.
At the time, Liverpool were informed they faced strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who had already submitted multiple bids for the 24-year-old without reaching an agreement with the Ligue 1 side.
While Liverpool’s interest placed them among the clubs monitoring Akliouche’s situation, the race now appears to be nearing its conclusion, with PSG closing in on a deal after weeks of negotiations.
According to L’Equipe, Monaco have accepted Paris Saint-Germain’s fifth offer, worth €50 million, for Akliouche, with the transfer now close to being finalised.
The report states that the two clubs have made a breakthrough after several earlier proposals failed to meet Monaco’s valuation.
PSG have made Akliouche one of their priority targets throughout the summer. The French champions saw a series of offers rejected before returning with an improved proposal that finally matched Monaco’s asking price.
The latest development represents a significant step towards completing the transfer, with only the final details now understood to be outstanding before the move can be formally concluded.
L’Equipe reports that all parties are confident the deal will be completed soon.
Akliouche has been one of Monaco’s standout attacking players in recent seasons and attracted interest from several clubs across Europe.
Liverpool were among those to make contact with Monaco, while PSG remained in pole position after agreeing personal terms with the player earlier in the window.
Liverpool’s enquiry did not progress beyond an initial approach, with the club continuing to assess multiple attacking options as they look to strengthen Iraola’s squad.
The Reds have also been strongly linked with PSG winger Bradley Barcola following Mohamed Salah’s departure earlier this summer.
Unless there is an unexpected late twist, Akliouche now appears set to remain in Ligue 1 by joining the reigning French champions.
