West Ham United have included two Liverpool players on their summer transfer shortlist as they adjust to life in the Championship
Liverpool are continuing to shape their squad ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season, with several players facing uncertain futures as Andoni Iraola assesses his options during pre-season.
The Reds have already handed opportunities to a number of academy graduates on their tour of the United States while decisions are still to be made on players returning from loan spells and those on the fringes of the first team.

As preparations continue, speculation has grown over which players could leave temporarily in search of regular football and which could remain part of Iraola’s plans for the new campaign.
That uncertainty has reportedly alerted other clubs, with Championship side West Ham United now monitoring two Liverpool players as potential loan additions before the transfer window closes.
According to ExWHUEmployee, via The West Ham Way, West Ham are considering moves for left-back Luke Chambers and midfielder Harvey Elliott. The Hammers are exploring both deals as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
Luke Chambers has emerged as a possible option to provide cover for El Hadji Malick Diouf, who is expected to remain at the club despite attracting transfer interest this summer. The report adds that West Ham are keen to add competition at left-back and believe Chambers could be a suitable loan signing.
The 22-year-old returned to Liverpool after spending the second half of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic. Chambers has already gained senior experience during previous loan spells with Kilmarnock, Wigan Athletic and Charlton, while also making first-team appearances for Liverpool.
Harvey Elliott is also being monitored, although West Ham are waiting for Iraola to decide whether the midfielder will feature in Liverpool’s plans before making a formal approach. The Hammers are understood to view Elliott as an ambitious target if he becomes available on loan.
West Ham’s interest in Elliott is not new. ExWHUEmployee states that the club were previously keen on signing the England youth international and continue to admire his qualities despite a difficult loan spell at Aston Villa during the 2025/26 campaign.
Elliott struggled for regular opportunities at Villa Park, making only limited Premier League appearances during the season. Aston Villa avoided triggering a reported £35 million obligation-to-buy clause by restricting his league appearances, despite the midfielder being part of the squad that won the UEFA Europa League.
The report adds that West Ham believe a season of consistent first-team football could help Elliott rebuild his career after a frustrating campaign.
However, any move will depend on Liverpool’s assessment of the 23-year-old once Iraola completes his evaluation of the squad during pre-season.
