Speaking after inspiring Kaysar Kyzylorda to a 3-1 victory over Zhenis Astana in the semifinals of the Kazakhstan Cup with a goal and an assist on Wednesday, Victor Moses urged patience with Kazakhstan international Dastan Satpayev following the teenager's goalscoring display on his unofficial Chelsea debut.
Satpayev will officially complete his move to the Premier League giants next month when he turns 18.
Chelsea agreed a deal to sign the 2008-born forward from FC Kairat for a fee worth up to €4 million, including performance-related add-ons.
Xabi Alonso included the Kazakhstan international in his squad for the club's pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, and the 17-year-old repaid the manager's faith by scoring six minutes into Chelsea's 6-4 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers.
Although Chelsea fans are understandably excited about the talented teenager, Moses reminded them of the demands that come with representing one of the world's biggest clubs.
"To be honest, he is still young; he still has a lot to learn. I am happy for him to obviously score a goal during pre-season for Chelsea. That would give him that momentum, that would give him that confidence to keep going, keep expressing himself, and elevate himself a little bit more," Moses told AmanVibe.
"Chelsea is Chelsea, one of the biggest teams in the world. He is still young, has a lot ahead of him. It's still pre-season. Let him enjoy the pre-season, and let's see what happens when the season starts."
Moses brought the curtain down on his nine-year association with Chelsea in 2021, having scored 18 goals in 128 appearances and helped the Blues win the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League.
