Liverpool are set to send a bid Paris Saint-Germain's way for one of their highly-regarded attackers

Liverpool look set to open negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain for Bradley Barcola. It wouldn't be the first time the two clubs have done business with each other.
Barcola has been linked for some time with a switch to Anfield following Mohamed Salah's exit. The Egyptian departed at the end of his contract this summer, leaving Andoni Iraola with a dilemma on the wing.
Victor Munoz arrived to help bolster the flanks, alongside defensive reinforcement signing Jeremy Jacquet. But that is unlikely to be the end of the spending at Anfield.

Initial talks with Barcola's representatives have encouraged the Reds to prepare an official approach. Should the Champions League winner opt to join Liverpool, it would not mark the first occasion that a transfer between the two clubs has materialised.

David Ngog put pen to paper on his first professional contract with PSG in 2006 as a highly-rated teenager. Two years on, he arrived at Anfield as a fresh-faced 19-year-old under Rafael Benitez.
The striker featured under three different managers at Liverpool, among them Roy Hodgson and Sir Kenny Dalglish. Ngog netted 19 goals and provided six assists across 94 appearances before departing for Bolton Wanderers in 2011.
Despite such an encouraging start to his professional career, Ngog ultimately failed to fulfil the potential he had shown in his early years. He subsequently turned out for Swansea City, Reims, Panionios, Ross County and Budapest Honved before retiring in Lithuania at the age of 31.
223-goal attacker

Nicolas Anelka had already made his mark in the Premier League prior to joining Liverpool on loan in 2001. The forward departed PSG for Arsenal at just 17, registering 42 goal contributions between 1997 and 1999.
A switch to Real Madrid followed before Anelka headed back to France a year later. PSG subsequently sent the striker to Liverpool during the January transfer window of 2001.
The French international made 22 appearances for the Reds, finding the net five times and helping the side secure a second-placed finish in the Premier League. Gerard Houllier chose not to pursue a permanent deal for Anelka, who subsequently moved on to Manchester City.
He returned to torment the Reds by netting twice in a 2-1 victory against them in May 2003. Over the course of his career, Anelka scored 223 goals for club and country, claiming two Champions League titles and the European Championship with France.
Ligue 1 winner

Mamadou Sakho had already clocked up 201 appearances for PSG before his £18million switch to Liverpool in 2013. The defender had lifted the Ligue 1 title just weeks before joining the Reds, bringing considerable experience to Brendan Rodgers' squad.
Sakho would go on to feature 80 times for Liverpool, netting three goals and extending his stay at Anfield beyond Rodgers' dismissal in 2016. Jurgen Klopp retained the centre-back for half a campaign before Crystal Palace took him on loan.
Following an impressive temporary stint, Sakho secured a permanent transfer to Palace in 2017 for a fee of £26m. He would subsequently have spells at Montpellier and Torpedo Kutaisi before hanging up his boots in January this year at the age of 35.
