Dominik Szoboszlai has dropped a massive hint to a potential Liverpool sale this summer in a rematch interview as Liverpool prepare for the final U.S tour match against Leeds.
When speaking about leadership in the squad, he referred to Alexis Mac Allister and then said, “if he comes back.”
The position of Alexis Mac Allister has been in question after supposed interest from Real Madrid earlier in the month.
Mac Allister is currently not with the squad as he is on holiday following a disappointing display from him and his Argentine teammates in the World Cup Final defeat to Spain.
What are the rumours about Mac Allister?
Shortly after the World Cup final, rumours came from Spain that Real Madrid were interested in a move for Alexis Mac Allister,
The reports suggested that Real Madrid would be willing to pay in the region of €100 million for the midfielder, although through interviews with Andoni Iraola, it is clear that he would prefer to keep the midfielder.
Szoboszlai’s comments add a seed of doubt to Liverpool fans ahead of the start of the Premier League season following a disappointing fifth place finish under Arne Slot last season.
Midfield doubts
This transfer rumour is one of several midfield difficulties that Andoni Iraola is facing just two games into his first preseason.
Curtis Jones had also been linked to a transfer this summer with Inter Milan interested in the Scouser.
After preseason victory over Wrexham there appeared to be a clash between Curtis Jones and Szoboszlai who had to be separated. The dispute was set to be around the captaincy armband which Szoboszlai gave to Kostas Tsimikas instead of Jones.
