Manchester City get their pre-season preparations underway on Saturday when they face Italian champions Inter Milan.
The Citizens haven’t played a friendly so far this summer but face Inter before other games against a K-League All-Stars side, and Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid.
New City boss Enzo Maresca will then take charge of his side in a competitive game for the first time when they face Premier League champions Arsenal in the Community Shield at Wembley on August 16.
Ahead of their game against Inter, though, it is emerging that the Manchester outfit are one of two Premier League sides interested in a young Scottish striker.
As per CaughtOffside, both Manchester City and Chelsea are monitoring Scotland Under-21 star Robbie Ure.
The 22-year-old currently plies his trade in Sweden with top-flight side Sirius, having joined from the academy of Belgian giants Anderlecht last summer.

Ure is a product of Rangers’ youth system and enjoyed a dream debut for the Glasgow giants, scoring in a 3-1 Scottish League Cup win over Queen of the South in August 2022.
He made just two more appearances for the club, though, before departing for Belgium in 2023.
During his time with Anderlecht, the forward made just one senior appearance, but he has scored 31 times in 49 games since moving to Sirius.
The report suggests that the Scot’s superb form in Sweden has attracted interest from both the Blues and the Citizens, with Ure now regarded as one of the most promising young forwards outside of Europe’s ‘top five’ leagues.
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are all said to have shown interest in Ure, while AC Milan, Napoli, Monaco and Lille are also all created with an interest.
Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas are all also said to have shown interest in the Scottish striker.
