Danny Welbeck’s move from Albion to Chelsea is expected to go through today.
The Seagulls striker is back in England having left the pre-season trip to Austria.
He is expected to sign a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee and link up with his new collages in the Far East.
Albion will keep eyes open for any potential new additions up front and will be aware fans will be impatient for a new signing up front.
But the club are also guardedly excited about Charalampos Kostoulas.
While keeping in mind he is only 19 and will require patience at times, they firmly believe he is ready to unleash his great potential and is looking fit and sharp this summer having needed time to get up to speed after his switch from Olympiacos last year.
Kostoulas scored twice in the opening friendly against Wycombe and is understood to have looked good and confident in training.
He will get more time to shine as the Seagulls face Strasbourg in a friendly on Saturday.
Fellow Greek striker Stefanos Tzimas has not travelled to Austria and is believed to be making good progress in his rehabilitation back at Lancing.
Evan Ferguson will remain with Albion for at least the first half of the season and will be given chance to impress when he recovers fully from an ankle injury.
His general fitness is thought to have improved during his time with Roma and he was in good form before injury ended his season.
Albion have been pleased with the amount of early work they undertook in terms of signings, which has allowed summer recruits to take a full part in team training already.
Max De Cuyper and Jason Steele have yet to link up with the squad after Belgium and England went deep at the World Cup.
