BAILEY CADAMARTERI says the pre-season tour of the USA will stand Wrexham in good stead for the forthcoming Championship season.
Former Sheffield Wednesday attacker Cadamarteri grabbed his first goal for the Reds in last weekend’s 3-2 friendly win over Leeds United in Tampa and he is enjoying his time on the other side of the pond.
Wrexham have further top flight tests against Liverpool and Sunderland to look forward to and Cadamarteri told the club’s YouTube channel: “It’s a good experience.
“We’re all really enjoying it and, yeah, obviously the training’s hot. Sometimes it’s hard to breathe, but we’re all getting through it together.
“Sometimes you’ve got to do that hard yards. We’re going to find that in this season in the Championship if we want to go and do special things.
“So, we’re going to have to work harder for our mates. So, coming and doing it here where it’s hard, it’s only going to put us in good stead.”
Wrexham grabbed three eye-catching goals in that fine win over Leeds, with Cadamarteri’s superb individual effort handing Phil Parkinson’s side a 2-1 advantage close to half time.
Being out in America, Cadamarteri is getting to see first hand the global reach that Wrexham has developed since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac became stewards of the club.
He added: “I’ve enjoyed it. I think it’s crazy that they’ve got so many fans abroad, as well as at home.
“Obviously, we’re building a new stand so we can fit more supporters in back home.
“But, obviously, most importantly, we’re here now and we’ve got support, which always helps us and we can see that in the results we’ve picked up so far.”
The tour is also helping the Wrexham squad to gel further and Cadamarteri said: “Pre-season’s about kind of creating those bonds and creating those connections between each other.
“So, yeah, looking forward to building on that and hopefully starting the season strong.”
