Everton star’s father moves to end transfer speculation
Iliman Ndiaye’s father has dismissed talk of a summer exit, insisting his son has no plans to leave Everton.
Mouhamadou Abdoulaye Ndiaye spoke to Senegalese outlet Wiw Sport after days of speculation linking the winger with Al-Hilal.
“Many people called me to tell me that Iliman was going to leave,” he said. “But rest assured, he’s not going anywhere.”
He described a phone call with his son that morning. The pair joked about the rumours before Ndiaye gave him a clear answer.
“I even teased him with a few words in Arabic, and we had a good laugh,” he said. “He let me know he had no intention of going to Saudi Arabia.”
The comments follow reports this week that Al-Hilal have offered Ndiaye a contract worth around £270,000 a week, and that Everton could demand a fee in excess of £70m to sanction a sale. Everton have so far refused to be drawn on a valuation.
Ndiaye’s father suggested a move to Saudi Arabia would represent a step back at this stage of his son’s career, with the 26-year-old still focused on developing his game at the highest level.
The forward has three years left on his Everton contract and remains a key part of David Moyes’ plans heading into the new season. Follow every twist of Ndiaye’s future on our live Everton transfer tracker.
