Everton winger named on shortlist as Bundesliga club plan for £100m departure

Tyler Dibling has emerged as a target for RB Leipzig as the German club draws up contingency plans for Yan Diomande’s expected exit.

According to BILD, Dibling is one of five names on Leipzig’s internal shortlist to replace the winger, who is closing in on a move to Real Madrid worth in excess of £100m. Francisco Conceição, Paul Nebel, Malick Fofana and Said El Mala are the others under consideration.

It is not the first time Leipzig have shown interest. The Bundesliga club were credited with tracking Dibling before his £42m move to Everton from Southampton last summer, only to lose out to David Moyes’ side.

That deal has yet to pay off on Merseyside. Dibling made just 14 Premier League appearances last season, totalling 350 minutes, and failed to register a goal or an assist.

He found himself behind Iliman Ndiaye, Jack Grealish and Dwight McNeil in the pecking order, with the winger using pre-season to try to change Moyes’ mind.

Whether an opening emerges may depend on developments elsewhere. Ndiaye has been linked with a Saudi move this week, though his father has since moved to dismiss the speculation.

For now, any Leipzig approach is understood to hinge on Diomande’s move to Real Madrid going through first. Follow every Everton departure and arrival on our live transfer tracker.
