Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement with Newcastle United for the transfer of Bruno Guimaraes
The Gunners have been chasing his signature for the last few weeks with their pursuit appearing to step after the surprise departure of Newcastle boss Eddie Howe earlier this week. It had been reported that the 48-year-old had accepted his captain was likely going to be sold.
Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali had already departed in this summer's window with the Magpies expected to rake in just under £250m from player sales, including Guimaraes, with Howe's fears proving true.
According to L'Equipe reporter Hugo Guillemet, there is an agreement in principle between the two clubs. Some final details involving bonuses still need to be settled but that the deal, expected to cost £77million, is close to being fully resolved.
Personal terms have also been agreed upon, according to the above report, with the Brazilian set to sign a contract until 2031.
